John Macdonald

John is the Director of Pro-Scot Ltd; he is one of the most experienced and highly qualified instructors in Britain. He started up Pro-Scot Car & Motorcycle Training Ltd in 1996, and has been a fully qualified car and motorcycle instructor for 10 years; prior to this he was a Chief Instructor at an Engineering College for 6 years.

He is a Grade 6 ORDIT Trainer and a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving (DSA) Instructor, (DSA) Fleet Trainer and Certified Motorcycle Instructor. He has achieved Grade 6 status, the highest Grade for a car instructor (only 5.9% of instructors are grade 6, DSA September 2005).

Johns own pass rate for "L" test training consistently exceeded 80% approx 36% above the national average. John has passed the Cardington Special Test with an 'A' Grade, this is the highest recognised standard of driving within the DSA. John is a DIAmond Advanced Instructor. He also holds the following additional qualifications - Diploma in Driving Instruction (Dip DI.) Diploma in Advanced Instruction (Dip RoADA), the DIAmond Advanced Drivers and MasterDrivers certificate. He has passed the DIAmond Special Test and is the DIAmond Examiner for the Fife area. John has also passed City & Guilds 7331 Instructional Techniques, D32, D33 & D34 skills and assessor modules and has a University Degree and was a 6 times Scottish Motorcycle Road Race Champion.

Gary Cooper

Gary Cooper, Pro - Scots Training & Development Officer is a Grade 5 fully qualified driving instructor and certified motorcycle instructor.

Gary has been an instructor for 10 years and has been with Pro - Scot for the same duration. He was Pro - Scots Chief Motorcycle Instructor for 5 years. In that time he was responsible for the training of new and assessment of existing instructors.

His own pass rate for both motorcycles and cars was well above the national average. Gary has successfully sat and passed the "Train The Trainer Course" with John Farlam of Smart Driving. Gary is a Grade 5 ORDIT Trainer and delivers both Part II and Part III training.
