Keep it simple - Learn to drive in an automatic car
An automatic car has an automatic gearbox that changes the gears for you and only two foot pedals, the accelerator (gas) and foot-brake, which are operated with the right foot. This makes learning to drive much easier and quicker. Particularly moving off and stopping, hill starts, slow speed car control and gear changing. Automatics, by making the physical job of driving much easier, helps to give you more time to concentrate on what's happening on the road. Those who have perhaps struggled to learn in a manual car have found learning in an automatic was much easier. Most of our auto cars are electric this helps to prepare you to cope with future technology.
It's becoming more popular
We are seeing a steady increase in the number of requests from pupils who would rather learn to drive in an Automatic than a manual car. There is a very good reason for this, the government plans to stop the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by the year 2030 and hybrids by 2035. This means that from 2030 all new cars will be automatic and from 2035 all new cars will be electric (or some other eco-friendly alternative, hydrogen?). What is certain is that manual cars are being phased out and replaced with autos. Many large car hire companies are now moving away from fleets of manual cars towards automatics. It is also easier to learn to drive an automatic car and students take less lessons to get to test standard which saves them time and money.
With Pro-Scot you'll benefit from individual driving tuition, all our lessons are on a one-to-one basis, and you'll be taught by a highly experienced and fully qualified DVSA approved driving instructor. You'll receive structured tuition following a logical sequence according to the DVSA syllabus.
Remember though: if you take your driving test in an automatic car, you may only drive an automatic after you pass your test. Nervous pupils are welcome.
